Easter Vignettes

Tomorrow is Easter, so I am sharing my favorite Easter vignettes from around my house.

I just love decorating for Easter! All the bright, pretty colors always seem to call out to me and I have a very hard time saying no to bunnies and eggs!

It's the little things that make a house a home, and it's how you put them together that defines your personal style. I mix up all different styles and types of home decor, from farmhouse to vintage to classic and modern. The common denominator for me is color. (And Spring is all about color!) Somehow, it always ends up working out!

If you go with what you love, you can't go wrong!

Happy Easter!!!

Love, Sweet Home Indiana Style

Oh, Valentine's Day! How much do I love you? Let me count the ways!

Today I will be sharing the little ways that I add a lot of love to my home for the month of February.

I think it's pretty safe to say that we all know how much I love to decorate for the holidays. Any holiday! Especially Valentine's Day! Pink and red color combos are the way to my heart and one would think that I have a ton of "V-Day" decor, but I really don't! Like everything in life, it's a work in progress! I slowly add a bit to my collection year after year. It is constantly growing and changing!

Adding little pops here and there are all you really need to decorate your home for Valentine's Day. That way, it doesn't look like love threw up all over your house. Although, I'd probably be okay with that!

This is what Valentine's Day looks like at my home this year!

Lights, camera, action! I am obsessed with string lights and these little heart lights add a wonderfully cozy glow to my living room.

Like the great Neil Diamond says, "turn on your heart light!"

Gel clings are a must on my front door windows for every holiday! I love the way they look when the sunlight shines through the window!

These heart ornaments are everywhere right now! I lucked out at Christmastime and got some at IKEA and am re-purposing them for Valentine's! I simply hung them on my chandelier with some grey yarn I had lying around!

Peek a boo!

I even switch out my oven mitts and pot holders for every season! Walmart usually has plenty of cute, festive, and cheap ones for every season! Like I always say, it's the little things that make a house a home!

My love-ly hand towels in my guest bathroom. Does anyone else put out fancy towels and then not really want anyone to use them or am I the only crazy one? I mean, yes obviously I want people to wash their hands, but you know. My husband says I am crazy.

No holiday would be complete without a wreath on the door! Or in my case, a wreath on every door! I made this Argyle Heart Wreath last Valentine's Day (here's the tutorial) and this year it is hanging on the inside of my back door.

Doesn't this make my entry way more welcoming? This really wasn't meant to be a Valentine's Day wreath, but it is very romantic looking. And the colors are spot on!

My most recent Valentine's Day wreath is proudly displayed on the front door to welcome everyone to my home!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day Hydrangea Wreath!

It's February! And that means it's time for all things Valentine's! As you know I love decorating for holidays and Valentine's Day is no exception! I love pink and red color combos, I love hearts, and I most definitely love flowers! I guess I just love Valentine's Day!

Wreaths are always an important and favorite part of my home decor and Valentine's Day is no different. Last year I made an Argyle Heart Wreath for Valentine's Day and I love it. But I've gotten so used to having a wreath on the outside and inside of every door of my house, so I had to make another one! Plus, it's really just so much fun!

My hydrangea wreaths are among my best sellers at craft shows, so I decided to make one in the colors of love ~ pink, red, and off-white! This wreath can really go for any time of the year, but it's extra perfect for Valentine's Day! I also upped the ante and added a burlap bow for something different. You gotta mix it up sometimes.

Keep an eye out! A wreath just like this may end up at one of my craft shows! I was actually going to make a DIY tutorial for this wreath, but I figured why give out my secrets?!? Buy the book! Or in this case, buy the wreath!

This is how it all starts out!

And this is the end result! I really love this wreath! It's easy to see why they are so popular!

Happy Valentine's Day!

My Christmas Wreaths

I cannot believe that Christmas is just around the corner already!

And I have totally been slacking on the blog! I usually post pretty much daily on my Instagram though, so if you are missing me you can check it out. It's sweethome.indiana!

Today, I am going to post all the Christmas Wreaths that I made! I actually sold most of them at my craft shows, so I am very happy about that! The few that I have left are hanging up on various doors at my house. I have one on my front door, one on the inside of my front door, and one on the inside of my backdoor! If I had a fireplace, I'd definitely have one hanging above it too!

In my home, wreaths are a necessity on my front door! It's a great and easy way to spruce up your entry way and welcome guests to your home!

I like to make unique wreaths, ones that you wouldn't normally see. Wreaths that stand out, and that people will cherish as part of their seasonal decor every year! I love all my wreaths and selling them is bittersweet because I would love to keep them all for myself! But, at the same time it makes me happy that someone else wants them as well!

You can check out my facebook page and if you are in the neighborhood you can purchase one of my wreaths or keep up with my shows! I am hoping to do a couple of craft shows in the Spring with some happy Spring and Summer wreaths!

Here are all my Christmas Wreaths, in all their glory:

Poinsettia's are probably my favorite flower! I loved this wreath and since someone already purchased it, I will have to make another one for myself!

This wreath screams vintage to me! I love everything vintage so this was one of my faves!

Santa!

Inspired by a Martha Stewart wreath, this Jingle Bell Wreath surprisingly took me several tries to get right! I had to find the right gauge of wire (I ended up using a hanger!) and of course, the perfect bow!

This is my husband's favorite wreath! We kept it and he added lights to it. It's hanging on our front door!

My brother and sister-in-law bought this wreath from me! It's classic with it's Christmasy red and green color scheme, but also modern with the green berries!

This deco mesh Poinsettia Wreath is ginormous! It does not fit on a front door with a storm door on it! I love it though! It would be perfect above a fireplace! It's currently hanging on the inside of my front door and it looks awesome!

I seriously just discovered buffalo check plaid and I love it!!! Pair it with burlap and holly and you have the perfect farmhouse Christmas wreath!

A glamorous poinsettia wreath!

Classic hydrangea. I made a very, very large one of these for above my sister-in-law's parent's fireplace. I can take orders!

I told you I loved poinsettias!

This was one of my most popular wreaths! I had to make several of them!

Everyone have a Merry Christmas!

Easter around my house!

I'm totally loving that I don't have to host Easter at my house this year! It's just nice to have a year off! But that doesn't mean I don't decorate. Decorating for the holidays is my favorite! And I especially love Easter with all it's fresh, pretty colors. Dare I say, it may be edging out Halloween as my favorite holiday?

I like to add at least one new item to my holiday decor per year. Honestly, let's put it this way - I try to limit myself to only one new item per year! As soon as the stores start putting out rabbits and eggs I get really excited and have to reign myself in! I could go crazy on Easter decor. And Halloween. And Christmas.

This year I couldn't resist the larger Peep pillow on my rocking chair. That kicked off Easter for me early this year and I started decorating in early March. My husband always wants me to put things away the day after the holiday, so I figured I'd just put it out sooner this year!

Here's a little tour of some of my favorite Easter decor this year.

These are the famous Williams-Sonoma alabaster Easter eggs! I had wanted these for years, but they are a little pricey. Luckily, I found them for more than half off a few years ago right after Easter! They are my absolute favorite Easter decoration!

I like the way they look in this basket. I got that little bunny at Hobby Lobby for less than a dollar last year! He's so cute!

This ceramic rabbit from Pier 1 is probably my second favorite Easter decoration! They had a cute smaller bunny with a yellow flower this year that I may still get.

These peachy little flowers (Hobby Lobby!) stay out pretty much all spring and summer.

Here's a close up. I love them! They are so springy!

Another little rabbit from Hobby Lobby. It's actually a place card holder for your table, but my tablescape is not that formal. I like to get small knick knacks and just place them all over the house like this. It's a cheap way to decorate and adds a pop here and there!

Here's another rabbit that's actually a salt shaker (you can't tell unless you were inspecting it.) I got these pink flowers and the green vase from Ikea! I can't wait until they open the one by Indy!

Speaking of Ikea...I added these plastic "painted" eggs my mom gave me to my Ikea greenhouse. This was impossible to get a good shot of since it's so reflective, so sorry for the glare!

Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers. These ones look really good for faux flowers!

Hanging with my Peeps!

As everyone knows, I love my wreaths! I like to hang them on the inside of my door as well as on the outside.

I just love gel clings on windows! These bunnies and eggs are too cute! My front door has the perfect windows to display them!

On the outside of the front door is my homemade plastic Easter egg wreath!

I love these giant plastic Easter eggs in my front yard! I had them inside last year, which looked nice too.

I just planted these purple and yellow Celestial Nights Violas and I am loving them! My front porch is now ready for Easter!

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram and Pinterest!

Happy Easter!
